The Autism Center of Pittsburgh and AutismLink have been serving the Autism community in Pittsburgh for over 10 years.  When you give money to National organizations, with the big blue puzzle piece — your money LEAVES PITTSBURGH.  While research is a good thing, our children need help HERE and NOW.  DONATE LOCALLY AND KEEP YOUR MONEY IN THE ‘BURGH!

From the Founder:

How did we start?  Very simple — a mom on a mission.  After my first son was diagnosed with autism, I started a nonprofit organization to ensure that no parent would EVER have to go through what I went through alone.  I wanted a place where parents could come for help in navigating the complex medical assistance/state system, where we could have events and form bonds with one another as a community.

My second son was diagnosed at 18 months of age.  I began to chronicle the process of obtaining services so that I could share that information with other parents so that they were not alone.  To date, we have diagnosed and treated thousands of patients at our centers.  My dream became a reality and we’ve helped so many families along the way.

Not only does the Autism Center offer speech and occupational therapies, etc., we also offer chances for socialization.  Being the parent of a child with autism — or in my case TWO children with autism — is sometimes very isolating.  Join us.  We’re here for you.
