Dr. John Carosso, PsyD.
Executive Director

Dr. John Carosso, a licensed psychologist who has been in practice for 16 years. Dr. Carosso has evaluated over 2.000 patients with disabilities, school concerns, and custody issues to name a few areas. Dr. Carosso has a certification in school psychology. His decade of service to the school system includes developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and Multidisciplinary Evaluations (MDE). Dr. Carosso’s experience in the mental health field dates back to over fifteen years in a number of capacities including as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and School Psychologist. He has worked in private, school-based, inpatient, residential, and in-home settings. His specialization is in the evaluation, assessment, and treatment of children and teenagers and, in that regard, has conducted literally thousands of evaluations with children, and families, of all walks of life. He has also encountered virtually all mental health complexities including within the autistic spectrum, attention deficit, defiance and oppositionality, depression, anxiety and panic, academic problems, psychosis, and delinquency. As part of the evaluation and treatment process. Dr. Carosso makes it a priority to help parents obtain a thorough understanding of their child’s diagnosis and suggest ways to manage their child’s developmental needs.

Becca Major
Director of On-Line Services and Community Outreach

Becca is a parent of 4, 3 of whom carry diagnoses on the autism spectrum. She has been
with us for 3 years and handles our online store and community outreach. She also speaks
along with Kristin at schools, churches, etc. Along with the store and outreach, Becca can
also schedule your evaluations, help with advocacy or finding community resources or
biomedical resources. She also has a service dog for her child and can help parents with

Kristin Gallagher
Director of Family Support

Kristin is the parent of 3 children on the autism spectrum. Kristin serves as a Family Support Coordinator at the Center, helping parents navigate the system, acquiring ACCESS/MA, IEP advice, advocacy, and much more! She has been with us for 5 years. Kris is our “go-to” girl for families. She enjoys helping newly diagnosed parents. Call her at (412) 537-9879.Kristin books psych evals in the South Hills Office. Brittanie Steiner
Director of Fundraising

Brittanie Steiner is the Director of Fundraising for the Autism Center of Pittsburgh. Brittanie began her degree at Penn State, and then transferred to pursue a degree in Public Relations, Marketing and Communications. Before becoming the Director of Fundraising, Britttanie was the Public Relations Director for a large chiropractic clinic with multiple locations in the Pittsburgh area. Brittanie has been heavily involved in the community throughout her life. Much time was spent involved in community service with her mother’s ministry. Pastor Carrie
Lyons was the founder of both Integrity Ministries International and Lyons Merchandising, both of which were out of Jeannette, Pennsylvania. Much of Brittanie’s time throughout the years was spent involved in food and clothing drives, as well as volunteering as a Sunday School Teacher at Crossroad Christian Outreach, also out of Jeannette, PA. Brittanie remained involved in both sports and dance throughout her life and transferred into instructing and coaching when she became of age.With her mother’s recent passing to breast cancer, Brittanie strives to maintain the same level of involvement in the community, both for herself, and to carry on her mother’s legacy. She is thrilled to be involved with the Autism Center of Pittsburgh and working with all of you to raise funds to help children and their families.
